just might work
I received the baffle in record time so that was nice. So far the squirrels have not bothered the seeds at all. I am not sure yet if it will keep the possums or raccoons out as I have not seen any since putting it up. I did find that the clamp piece you put on the pole to keep the baffle up did not tighten very well so since I already had one up from a previous baffle (plastic) I just kept the old one on and it held it up fine. I'd buy another one.

not one critter in the feeder
I have had two of the 18" baffles on two poles for years and they work great. The only downside was that the underside support couldn't be tightened enough to prevent the baffle from slipping down under pressure (e.g., raccoon), but a simple hose clamp underneath solved that easily. I also added a hose clamp above the baffle to prevent the wind from blowing it upwards. Good product - I just ordered two more.

Not Squirrel proof !
Squirrels can bypass the baffle and continue up the pole by using the baffle as a step to the pole above it. The part that the baffle rests on offers just enough resistance to some squirrels that the baffle does not wobble enough and therefore it becomes a step for the squirrel up the pole.

Baffled the squirrels!
Very easy to install and has kept the squirrels out of the feeder from the moment I put it on the pole. The first day it was up we watched the squirrels climb up and try to figure out a way around it. They just couldn't. The only down side is it accumulates bird droppings on the surface which looks messy but doesn't make it any less effective. We have another pole on which we have a platform for grape jelly and orange halves that we put out for the Orioles. Ants climb up the pole and get into the jelly and at night the raccoons steal any jelly that remains. I'm going to buy the 18" version to see if it will thwart the raccoons. I have a plan for the ants once I've dealt with the raccoons.
