This is the very best for attracting birds and you are doing the birds a service giving them the fresh water they need. You can control the drip to be a very slow drip-drip-drip. Birds love the fresh water, and if the water in the birdbath is a little dirty, the birds will sit on the arch to reach down to catch the drip. Keep out of hot sun! The only thing that concerns me about this dripper are the little pebbles. Here in Texas the birdbaths,get a black algae from the heat. I have to scrub with a brush and the pebbles will make it difficult to clean. If not clean the algae will grow back quicky. I would be happier with a smooth base. Other than that I am thrilled with this dripper. To me a dripper is a must!!
