Buntings

Buntings are small, colorful seed-eating birds found in weedy thickets, woodland clearings and brushy areas. The Indigo and Lazuli buntings have brilliant blue coloring, while the Painted bunting is a beautiful patchwork of blue, red and green. Chances are you live in an area where at least one of these birds can be found in summer. Attract buntings with Nyjer seed and other small seeds—especially millet—as well as canary seed and sunflower seed chips.
