This has attracted so many woodpeckers to my yard. Juncos, carolina wrens and chickadees too. Unfortunately, it is also a favorite of starlings. They are so easy to use. Because the logs vary slightly in size, I will suggest when twisting them into the holes in the log to do it over a tray or platform feeder to catch the crumbs that are shaved off. Non clinging birds will appreciate these crumbs being added to their preferred feeders. I also suggest using these in colder weather as they may get moldy from being stuffed in a hole too long.
