I noticed that the small birds couldn't get the seed out. Ports were too small and too deep for them to reach in. I was using sunflower chips which they love but couldn't access. Also when filling the feeder some of the sunflower chips slid out between the feeder and the plexiglass. Might be OK for larger birds with long beeks. Wood Peckers maybe.

I really like this style birdfeeder in profile, but hols a good amount of seed, it's easy to fill with a funnel and squirrels don't bother with it. In addition, the price was great on sale, and although I had some issues with scratches when it arrived, Customer service responded quickly and resolved that issue. I would recommend this feeder and this company for sure.

I had squirrels emptying my hanging platform feeder within an hour of filling it. They would eat the sunflower seeds and throw the other seeds all over the deck and ground. I could not find a way to stop them - I even gave them their own feeder but they preferred my bird's feeder. I hung this one instead and now my BIRDS are getting sunflower seeds. I won't say this is squirrel proof - but it sure stopped my squirrels in their tracks. None have touched the sunflower seeds since I have hung this feeder and the birds went to it right away.
