Hoping to attract finches once again. Duncraft's little black seeds whose name alerts the word smith is a much more reasonable price than locally. We're ready to put back up a feeder.

First of all, this feeder has eight (8) perches/feeding ports, not just 6 like it states in the description, which is even better! You can't see the lowest perches in the photo because they're down at the bottom, just above the tray. The birds love this feeder, and so do I! It was easy to assemble, easy to fill, easy to hang, and it's easy to refill, too. With 8 perches plus the feeding tray, about a dozen birds can feed happily at once! It also allows bigger birds to feed from the tray, while the smaller birds (goldfinches, mostly) feed at the ports. The plastic hood helps keep off the rain, and the tray catches the falling seed and helps prevent a mess on my patio below. All in all, I couldn't be happier with this feeder, and the birds certainly are happy, too!

I have been through a few Nyjer feeders and this is the only one I would recommend and I am buying one for my parent's backyard! It keeps the seed dry and fresh! It's also easy to clean which is very important to me. I have golden finches all over it! They use the perches and tray. It doesn't get as much attention in the summer months but now that the weather has gotten cold, I am filling this feeder every other day.

We got this feeder about a month ago, and just like the catalogue picture, its loaded with finches! They love it. The nyjer seed and this feeder is definitely a crowd pleaser.

Feeder quality is great, but for some reason my birds just don't like it. Don't think there are enough holes so the birds just can't figure out how to get the seed out.
