Very well constructed. Sparrows and finches seem to like this better than the traditional open platform feeder that I replaced with this one.

This is my favorite feeder; or was, until the squirrels learned how to get on it by leaping from tall trees, landing on top of it with such force that it broke. Time after time, I chased them away and trimmed back the branches they leaped from, but they moved to another branch, figured out the trajectory and kept leaping from farther away, landing on the feeder's roof with all their weight. After a dozen or so impacts, the feeder fell to the ground (again), with two of three posts pulled out of the metal floor. It's unrepairable. I will definitely order another one - but only after I have a couple of trees trimmed back and saplings removed completely.

These feeders last a long time making their high price very cost effective. One of my feeders is 10 years old - more durable than any other feeder. I was delighted to find them at Duncraft after searching for them a long time. Many different birds (and squirrels) are attracted.

I love the feeder but I have to keep watching and free the birds that get their feet caught.

This feeder is the best!!! I have enjoyed fifteen years of watching beautiful birds at this feeder. I have been looking for another one like it for many years. From migratory birds to my resident cardinals, bluejays, doves (even a white dove a few months ago!), woodpeckers and even a pair of Great Northern Harrier hawks that have come back year after year, this feeder attracts all kinds of birds.Currently there's a stunning red male cardinal in the feeder and a pretty little female on top of the arch of the Shepard's hook the feeder is hanging from. It is a never-ending lovely show right outside my door! I'm considering adding another feeder like this one to my backyard...
