I bought this to replace my regular suet feeders, since I have an issue with grackles and starlings. Not only did it stop them from feeding the suet, but it has attracted woodpeckers I haven't had before. I usually have a male and female downy that come religiously every day. Now I have the male and female hairy that come along with them, I have the male and female redbelly too now. My chickadees love it and even a titmouse or two. I use the peanut pepper logs to keep the squirrels away and that's working great. I am purchasing more to hang in my trees now. The first one is on my deck on my plant stand where my woodpeckers feed. I will put the others in my front trees for my mockingbirds, since their nest is out front. Love the look of these too, the real wood looks so attractive and I am sure it will last. Plus it's so much nicer to look at than a wire cage.

I stuffed the log with suet logs two weeks ago, and so many birds come all day. In addition to the small birds, today we had a downy woodpecker and a red bellied woodpecker. There is so much activity. It is a joy to watch.
