Specs for Bird House Nesting Boxes:

Before you buy a bird house, we suggest you review our chart to see if the measurements conform to the needs of the species you are trying to attract. Nesting birds prefer homes that conform to their ideal living space and that have ideal sized entrance holes. The entry hole must be large enough to enter but small enough to stop larger birds and predators from taking over the nest.

Special Note: Be sure all of your bird houses have no front landing perches. Duncraft's recommendation: if your backyard bird house has a perch, remove it. Front landing perches give predators an unfair advantage when raiding nests. The only useful bird house perches are for home decor -- they are a great hook for your keys.
