Squirrel-proof cage is so easy to clean

Completely disassembles for cleaning! Just twist off the top, twist out the tube and twist off the base—no screws or bolts to remove! The globe cage keeps out gray squirrels and large birds, so smaller birds dine undisturbed.

Stainless steel and aluminum construction holds about 1 lb. of black-oil sunflower or shelled peanuts. Stainless steel wire hanger with clasp. 2-1/2 inches diameter wire mesh tube, 12 x 13 inch globe.

Needs revised lid!
I bought this feeder even though three views were not good on the lid. I must say all the reviews are correct the lid attachment is problem/pain! I do like the idea of having a squirrel proof/ resistant mesh feeder. The downy woodpeckers and Pine Warblers in my yard do seem to use this feature quite frequently. I put suet and mealworms in this feeder

Keeps squirrels out but lid is difficult to use!
I use this feeder for both whole peanuts and shelled peanuts. It attracts the birds who seem to enjoy pecking away at the nuts. The lid, however, is very hard to secure and remove. There is no good way to grip the lid when trying to remove it. The knob on the top is useless. If the lid was improved (screwing it on with the top knob for example), I'd give this 5 stars.

Has Issues But Gets Job Done If You're Flexible
Totally agree with other reviewer about the lid. Needed to take feeder back to store for help removing lid first day. However it got easier with practice. This is the only feeder that dispenses peanuts without clogging up AND at the same time keeps squirrels, starlings and grackles away, but accommodates redbellied woodpeckers. If anyone knows of a feeder that does all that better than this feeder i'd love to hear about it. The lid is so hard to remove even our brilliant raccoons can't get in. Frustrated squirrels bit through the flimsy hanging wire in about 2 weeks so now i use a chain to hang it from a porch hook. Have used this feeder faithfully for a year and it still gets job done.

few cons
It is difficult to get the lid positioned right to tighten it. Once tightened, it is difficult to untighten. Center food holder is not firmly anchored. It has very sturdy construction. It is easy to see the birds and they have more room than some feeders.
