Squirrel-proof cage is so easy to clean

Completely disassembles for cleaning! Just twist off the top, twist out the tube and twist off the base—no screws or bolts to remove! And the globe cage keeps out gray squirrels and large birds, so smaller birds dine undisturbed. Stainless steel and aluminum construction holds about 1 pound of mixed seed. Wire hanger with clasp. Dimensions are 2-1/2 inches diameter tube, with a 12 x 13 inch globe.

Feeder
Incredible
Not squirrel proof. Corrodes so that it cannot be taken apart to clean. Hangs by its lid so risk of falling. Lid difficult to get off and correctly put back on. The idea was good but the engineering was very flawed.

Crazy Bird Feeder Lady
Not bad
Mostly I really like this feeder: very light, very easy to refill, and totally impervious to my gray squirrels. My chickadees and other small birds love it and eat in peace while the big birds can't bug them. However, the little red squirrels can get in! But that's OK.

Not completely squirrel-proof
As the description says, it will keep out gray squirrels, but not the small Douglas squirrels of the Pacific northwest. But they'll only get into it when their plate on the porch is empty. We feed them too, as well as the chipmunks. The paint on the lid of ours began to peel and I sanded it down, sprayed it with 2 coats of a rust-resistant paint and topped it off with a coat of polyurethane. The lid can be tricky to put back on until you discover which depression on the lid fits best with a particular notch, then it's no problem. Spotted Towhees can enter but not the bigger Stellar's Jays. It just frustrates them. We trim it out with fallen branches from the Douglas fir trees and the birds love having something to sit on while they wait their turn. Attracts our finches, chickadees, juncos, and towhees. Hung outside our bedroom window, it's fun to watch them all.

Painted bunting fan
Painted and Indigo Buntings Love It!
I have multiple feeders hanging under my front porch and this one is the buntings favorite. I have to refill it the most, even though they all hold about the same amount of feed. My buntings and my cardinals use it, although it did take the cardinals a while to figure it out. I love that it is stainless steel and is holding up very well. I looked to see if I could find another one cheaper, but ended up finding powder coated steel ones instead. Yes the top opening is a bit tricky. The notches should be marked on the top of the lid at least. I find I have to look underneath the lid every time I go to put it back on, so I can line up the notches just right. I am willing to deal with this though, being that my little birds love it and the squirrels and bigger birds stay out; except for an occasional bird that is willing to eat a few crumbs out of the bottom, while hanging upside down.
