Squirrels beat it two different ways
I bought two of these and they worked fine for a while. However, somehow a squirrel was able to get the top open and chew through the yellow plastic hanger element inside...ruining the feeder. I may have been at fault by not making sure the snap locks engaged. I still use the other feeder but my squirrels beat it by hanging from their feet from the cable and not touching the feeder top...they can empty it in a day.

Great feeder - no squirrels!
This is a great feeder and the smaller birds love it, as well as a few woodpeckers. The squirrels in my yard don't have a chance with this one, although a few of them keep trying but don't succeed. I'm so glad to finally have a feeder that they can't empty out. We feed shelled corn to the deer, so they still have plenty to eat. This feeder is a bit pricey, but it's worth it because they now leave it alone so the birds have total access to it. Very easy to fill and hang on a shepherd's hook. Highly recommend this one.

I love this feeder!
I really do love this feeder, it works well and keeps the squirrels away but I struggled to clean it. It didn't come apart and I practically had to break it apart to get inside enough to get the old moldy seed out. We've had a lot of rain and it was very important to get the moldy seed out, but it was quite a hassle!

I Must Have Smart Squirrels!
First off, I really do love this feeder. I have had it for a year and it still works and looks fairly decent. I just happen to have very smart squirrels - they even work together to figure things out. But... I find that my squirrel population has out-smarted the feeder. They have found two ways to get seed from the feeder. 1.) They jump and hang on the feeder. From there they have been able to bend/chew/scratch the leaf design and green plastic opening enough that they can just reach in and get seed. 2.) The more insane way... They have found if they jump off the feeder to the side it spins the feeder enough that the seed is thrown out of the openings. I would like to see a future design that could have a larger leaf or different shape to keep little hands from seed stealing. As for the spinning? You would need more solid way to hang the feeder to prevent spinning. All in all, I love the feeder... but, I am also someone who loves squirrels. I just wish they would keep to their feeder and leave the birdy's one alone.
