Great feeder - great customer service!!
This review is an addendum to one I posted earlier where I mentioned that squirrels ripped out the mesh insert of this feeder. I just wanted to mention that Duncraft read my review and contacted me regarding the feeder and asked if they could ship out a replacement mesh. I received it and the feeder is working great. The customer service of Duncraft is really above and beyond any company I've ever done business with. It is really a priority that the customer is satisfied. Thank you Duncraft!!

Nice feeder
This would be one of my favorite feeders because it attracts sever different types of birds. However the first day I got it I put it right out on my deck feeder poles and my squirrels ripped out the mesh wall that holds the seed in...never to be found again. I still try to use it (on one of my squirrel proof poles), but the seed has a tendency to spill without the mesh insert. Sometimes I just fill the suet cages--I also really like that they are upside-down cages so the Starlings/Sparrows have a harder time getting at the suet. Overall a good feeder if I wouldn't have put it somewhere my naughty squirrels could get at it.

Pat the hummer feeder
versatile feeder
I picked this up because it feeds seed and suet, and the holes on the side could be filled with peanut butter, or just left for birds to pick seed out of. I've filled it with sunflower hearts that I've coated with red pepper sauce to deter squirrels. And filled the suet cages with hot pepper suet. I have this feeder hanging off my deck, and squirrels do jump from the house to the feeder, and it's hard to squirrel deter on the deck because there's too many places they can jump from. The feeder doesn't let them get much, since the hopper doesn't let much flow through - birds mostly pick the seeds from the steel mesh. I'm not totally thrilled with the see through lid. It confuses babies, and it seems flimsy. I'd have preferred a sturdier recycled plastic lid. But the feeder seems reasonably sturdy otherwise, and it is a bit heavy, and may be too much so for lighter feeder poles. So far, I'm happy with this feeder, and am considering getting another.
