Keeps the dumber squirrels out
This feeder is resistant, but not squirrel proof. One year I had a squirrel figure out how to pry the top up, and it climbed inside. It got locked in, and I had to go out with a long pole to remove the feeder from the hook, and put it on the ground to lift the lid. Other than that, this is a great feeder for bigger birds.
