Woolie natural bird house for the birds!

It's made of naturally water repellant wool, and when it does get wet it will also naturally dry itself out. Made with sustainably harvested materials including a braided natural hemp hanging cord and a bamboo perch.

The 1-1/4 inch diameter opening is sized for small birds such as wrens, chickadees, titmice and blue birds. Comes partially filled with recycled paper to maintain the shape in shipping, remove before use. Designed for year-round outdoor use, they should maintain their structure for at least one year. Birds will use remainder of nest for nest building after year of use, so leave out. Colors may begin to fade if left in direct sunlight for more than two months.

Created by skilled, fair trade artisans in Kathmandu, Nepal, from hand-felted wool and hand-dyed woolen yarns. Artisans use 100% natural wool and non-toxic, azo-free dyes. Wool scraps are recycled into new products.

Don't forget that wool will maintain structure for at least a year outdoors. Can last a lifetime indoors. Colors will gently fade over time if hung in direct sun. To avoid fading, hang in a shaded or protected area.

Great for roosting in the winter.
I received this as a gift on Christmas of 2013. I have had it hanging on my porch since last spring. No luck with having birds nest in it, but it has been used for roosting by a Carolina Wren this winter. He comes in every evening before dark and leaves before daybreak. I have it hung in a location where it is protected from the weather and it looks as good now as it did on the day I received it. The only negative is that it would be extremely difficult to clean it out once birds have nested in it.
