Worked very well for over 5 years
I'm buying a replacement after 5+ years of using the first one. I had to replace it because the plastic split at the seam of the pedestal so the top could no longer twist in securely. I repaired it once with epoxy and got a couple more years out of it. (The top twists in to screw threads on the pedestal after you plug in your cord). I usually put it away during the warm months as I found the plastic looked too plasticy. Prefer an existing stone birdbath's appearance.

Perfect
The heated scalloped birdbath is both attractive and functional. Birds need a year round supply of water and this bath makes the task of supplying water in subfreezing weather simple. I had a separate plugin/drop in heater that worked but I was always concerned about the electrical exposure where the exposed extension cord meets the drop in heater. This bath is well designed with the extension cord plugging directly into the base of the scalloped bowl through the pedestal. The design affords a degree of protection for the electrical connection from rain, snow, etc. My only issue with the design is I wish the bath had a more tapered bowl. Birds prefer sloping bowl sides. However my birds have adapted to the design of this bath and have a steady supply of water no matter what the temperature. One final positive note, the heater turns on only when the ambient air temperature is below 34 degrees F. That is an energy saver!
