Works For Me.
I have been using one of these for a few years which was purchased locally, after trying other options both home made and commercial. Unless I have a very small opening, I always pour the seed from the top into the feeder. As noted in other reviews, the seeds get stuck between the bottom of the feeder and the slider making it difficult to control. I hold the feeder in my hand making a little barrier on both sides with my fingers which gives me good control for pouring and controlling spilling. I have a rectangular cardboard tray, reinforced with duct tape, which I set on top of a box that puts whichever feeder I'm filling at just about the right height. I either pour any dropped seed in the tray back into the bag or if I get some on the floor, I will sweep that up and pour it on the ground under the feeders.

Happy I have this
This scoop is made from a heavy plastic, and it works just as described ... good for scooping up seed, then using the handle as a funnel for small bird-feeder openings, like tube feeders. Before I used this, I did spill a lot of seed! So this has helped me save money. Considerations: Learn how to work the damper before using ... this probably sounds obvious, but I did make a few errors before checking to see if the damper was closed, as I filled it. It's not perfect, at first I did find it a bit flimsy, but it just took me a few tries to get used to it. The funnel can get clogged, but just a few shakes frees seed up. Overall, for the money, I'm pleased with it.

Works well
I have one feeder shaped like a house with the small chimney as the opening and top to it. With this scooper I can just put the narrow end down into it and don't loose half the seeds like before, when using a measuring cup. It's light weight, seems sturdy enough for its purpose and being able to control the amount of seed is great too. I did find it rather pricey though.

Not happy
Not sure which way one of the inner pieces goes. Neither way works too well. Seeds get stuck and the slider won't move all the way. I think a quart milk jug will work better.

Quick and Easy
This is a great scoop/funnel for filling large feeders (scoop) and small tube feeders (funnel). I love that the damper is easy to control so you can stop the flow of the seed all in one hand.
