This is a great and versatile feeder. I use for Peanut Suet Balls, which I either make myself with a standard Marvel/Miracle Meal recipe or that I buy already made from Duncraft. It is also just the right size for ripened, seasonal fruit like small or medium nectarines, peaches, or plumbs, which the birds in my yard absolutely love -- especially ripe nectarines. I usually put in the feeder one or two of these fruits along with the Peanut Suet Balls. In Summer time, I only put one suet ball in the feeder and refill or replace every day or two, as I don't want to risk the suet getting rancid from the heat. The piece of fruit is usually completely gone in a day or two.
