Invite bluebirds with their favorite food

Insect-eating bluebirds love mealworms—and they feed them to their nestlings, too. Bluebirds prefer to feed within their own protected feeding area, away from aggressive birds. Two clearview plastic sides let you see all the activity! Our bluebird feeder has a deep, triangular base to hold plenty of dried mealworms for a protein-rich treat. Watch your bluebirds come and go through the four round entry hole openings, as they fill their bills with mealworms to carry back to the nest. Bluebird feeder measures 9-1/2 x 8 x 8-1/2 inches tall.

  • Perfect for dried mealworms, up to 2 cup capacity
  • Bluebirds prefer to feed within our enclosed feeding area
  • Features clearview plastic siding for viewing your bluebirds
  • Easy to clean with filling from the top
  • Made in the USA, available exclusively at Duncraft

Blue Bird Feeder?
I purchased this feeder three years ago. It has held-up very well (still looks like new) EXCEPT for the hanger wire. It has broken twice. Seems too thin. I just replaced it today with a small chain. The chickadees love the dried mealworms but the bluebirds will not go inside. They land on the top of the feeder, and seem interested in the mealworms, but will not go inside.

bluebirds saw it right away
We put the feeder by our bluebird house about 5 feet from ground near our horse pasture. We had it there less than a day and the female tried to get in but fluttered around and could not. I looked closer at the feeder and noticed that the perches came pushed all the way in until they touched. We pulled them out around an inch and it worked. Is durable and well made.

Still Waiting for the Bluebirds
This seemed to be a good idea, and we do have bluebirds eating dried mealworms in basic tray-type feeders. We've tried for two years now, and our bluebirds have yet to figure this feeder out. We'll stick with the tray feeders.

Easy View Mealworm Feeder
We bought this feeder as an alternative to the Large Easy View Bluebird Feeder. It keeps the starlings out which the other feeder didn't, however, male bluebirds don't seem able to get inside. They flutter at the sides and try to grab mealworms from the escape holes. Starlings can do the same. Female bluebirds fly right in and enjoy their meals out of the elements. The "v" shaped bottom works to keep everyone but female bluebirds from feeding if you keep the worm level down below the escape holes.

Roasted mealworms yes/ live ones no
Very sturdy will probably last for years. Cleans up easily. Looks very nice. The holes need to be 1.5" for Bluebirds, and to keep Woodpeckers and Starlings out. I would use dried or roasted mealworms only. Clear plastic does not fit the blue edges tight enough to keep mealworms from crawling out.
