  • Holds 1-1/2 lbs. of sunflower seed
  • Watch birds cling & feed from the wire mesh
  • Features outer mesh guard, so squirrels can’t reach the seed
  • Easy filling from the top with squirrel lock

This feeder is great!
I bought this one about 4 months ago and the squirrels have not figured out a way to get in. I have bought other feeders that state squirrels can’t get to the seeds, but they have found a way. I bought a ground feeder and the squirrels went under it and put a hole in the screen. And then they started biting the sides and have ruined it. No more wood. Needs to be reinforced with steel. Duncraft take note.

A Most Sanitary Feeder for Songbirds
Among all my bird feeders, this is by far the most visited and busy. Finches, Chickadees, Nuthatches, and Titmice swarm all over it. Squirrels can neither jump on or climb up my feeder pole; but even so, the outer wire grid guard performs an even more important function -- it keeps the bird's (dirty) feet off of the stainless steel mesh that the songbirds pull their seeds through. House Sparrows, Starlings, Cowbirds, Doves, and Pigeons cannot get seed from it. This is my 3rd season with this feeder and I'm not aware of any faults or problems with its design. Of all my feeders, this one affords the BEST view of the birds actually eating their food. Four House Finches, a Chickadee, and a Titmouse are clinging to it at this moment!

Squirrel Blocker Feeder
I have six of these feeders and they must be at least 25 years old. I swear by them! This is one quality product. The squirrels gnawed the top until they left marks on the top of the lid but all but one failed to get in. That one was relentless and smart but only could get seeds within reach of his tiny arm. I just bought two of these feeders for a friend. Thank you for a product that has outperformed.

Works As Advertised!
Gotta admit it was fun watching our gray squirrels trying to get a free snack! As squirrels will, they do still try from time to time, without success, but have not damaged this feeder. Was a bit hesitant to spend this much, but getting a great return on this investment. Going through much less food now that squirrels can't access and multiple birds feed at once. A win-win all around.

Actually squirrel proof, but hard for some little birds
The squirrels have tried climbing all over this, with no success. This is the only feeder I've ever owned that is actually squirrel proof. The chickadees and titmice love it, but sometimes have trouble getting seeds out of the feeder, landing and pecking at it but leaving empty handed. I've been using black oil sunflower, might try switching to something else or a mix.
