The Feeding Frenzy Bird Feeder is outstanding. Well, in fairness I suppose much credit goes to the variety of birdseed I load into this feeder. For starters the feeder holds a great quantity of seed and the eight feeding ports and the bottom tray accommodate several birds feeding simultaneously. It is, indeed, a feeding frenzy. Unfortunately, due to the design of the feeder the top four feeding ports quickly run out of seed as the supply in the hopper dwindles. The more aggressive birds hog the bottom ports which results in a greater feeding frenzy. The birds do seem to prefer this feeder to my trusty Absolute II squirrel proof feeder but I really believe it is due to the type of seed I load into the Frenzy Feeder.

Love these feeders. Large hoppers. All bits flock to these feeders. I have two. High capacity makes more time watching less time loading. Only complaint is that they tend to get lopsided as the mechanism is fluid by design I suppose. So if you think it may bother you to see a slightly cockeyed feeder - consider that. Otherwise a great item.

Hangs well from post with baffle, so I do not need it to be squirrel proof. Cardinals love the tray at the bottom to sit on and the ports are easy for them to access. The overhanging top should keep water out and the ports are recessed again to prevent wetness in heavy rains. It has not rained here since I put it up, but I am certain it will be an improvement over my last feeder. Mixed seeds are perfect or sunflower hearts would work, as well. I am ordering another one today. Having been a bird lover for many years, I am always happy to improve my feeders. And now that a black bear has discovered my garden, I bring all the feeders in at dusk.
