Keep pesky squirrels out of your bird seed

The wide diameter prevents squirrels and larger birds from reaching past the caging to the seed ports. Watch smaller birds easily fly-through the wire grid to perch and feed. The solid bottom tray has drainage and keeps seed and hulls off your lawn. All-metal with antique bronze finish and embossed “weave” design on top. 10 inch diameter. 16-1/2 inches tall.

  • 2-3/4 lb. capacity with 4 feeding ports
  • Protect your smaller birds with this caged feeder
  • Features 1-1/2 inch fly-through openings to discourage larger birds
  • Remove the cap for filling from the top

Grackles can still get at the seed
This is a pretty feeder and functions well as a feeder. I bought it because the squirrels, grackles and blackbirds were dominating the feeder and we weren't getting any other birds. It did deter the squirrels. The grackles are still all over it, all day. They can get their heads in enough to clean out the feeder in a day. The assembly is odd. Based on how it was put together on arrival, it appears the central rod that holds it all together had to be placed after the tube is full of seeds and then screwed into the bottom - almost impossible to do. Ended up using one of the bolts on the bottom so the rod never needs to be removed.

Plastic tube does hold up well
I've had this feeder a little over three years. I have been repairing the tube with clear plastic packing tape for the last two. It can no longer be repaired and be functional. The manufacturer does not offer a replacement part. I have a neighbor with the same feeder. Identical problem. It's an expensive feeder to only last a couple of years.

Birds love it...have found a home
I can understand Texas Gal's problem but my feelings are just the opposite...yes, there's holes at the bottom and seed does come out into the tray, but not that I mind. The birds seem to love it and I've had as many as 6 birds "in the tray" eating those seeds....and that's as well as birds on the perches too. Now I don't put new seed in until they're done cleaning out the tray...and they will clean the tray out...they camp there.

Big birds get a bellyful of seed
This is an attractive feeder and I love the look. My old Duncraft feeder was still working great, but I was inundated with doves and grackles so needed a feeder for the little guys. The problem with this feeder is that the seed tube has 4 openings at the bottom. Big birds cling onto the cage, which tips the feeder sideways, and seeds just pour out. It was empty in a day. So, I took it apart and put duct tape over the holes. Yes, it's ugly, but it works much better now. Really can't recommend this feeder without blocking those bottom holes.

nice feeder
I recently bought this and the birds love it. Very easy to fill and hang. It's also funny to watch the squirrels try to get into it. They can just about reach it and get their little paws into the tray at the bottom, that's it.
