Fantastic feeder
I have two (2) of these. The first was bought for the Painted Buntings that come down here in Fall and stay into Spring. Have had it for around five (5) years. I bought another one two years ago. Use the older one for shelled seed for other birds, and the newer one for millet for the Buntings. I live in SE Florida, and have very few small, seed eating birds here. The Cardinals manage to squeeze into the feeders, but Red Bellied Woodpeckers and Blue Jays feed from the sides. Feeder is very well built, withstands rain well (keeping seed dry). Easy to clean with pull out trays. I use a brush that has an edge on one side to clean out seed that gets in tray grooves. Seed stays contained, doesn’t go all over on the ground. Squirrels have tried hard to chew up my older one (despite having raccoon baffles on both poles…they jump to feeder from a tree). A pole baffle is highly recommended. But they have failed to do any real damage resulting in their ability to get to the seed. I had to replace the pole on the first feeder last month, after 5 years. That’s pretty darn good here, where metal deteriorates at an alarming rate! The cage tends to rust a bit after time, but nothing that affects the functionality of it. I worked at Wild Birds Unlimited for years, so I am familiar with and have tried every feeder brand on the market. This is hands down the best platform feeder there is.

Good feeder for small birds
We've had this pole feeder up since summer time and with the a little work it's been great. We added a non skid rug mat over the clear cover to give birds a chance to land and the drop to get into the feeder....they were landing and sliding off. We also added a small weighted bowl inside to further restrict access to meal worms. The starlings are relentless clinging to the side and sticking their long necks in. Now the bluebirds and other smaller birds get their worms and we get to watch our 6, up from 4 last year!

Nice feeder
I really like this feeder and bought it to keep the larger birds from inhaling all my expensive seed! Unfortunately, it's been up for about a month, and I have very few small birds that come to it! I was very surprised as I thought they'd love it. I see a couple in there occasionally, but it's not a favorite of theirs. Hopefully, they will be more attracted to it! Right now, they still like my tube feeders better.
