This is the second time I have ordered this mealworm feeder, and I will give it 5 stars again. Unlike the person who complained of mockingbirds getting inside, my mockingbird has tried but cannot. I do have Carolina wrens who share the live and dried mealworms with our bluebirds, but that is fine with me. Last year, Daddy bluebird fed his babies lined up on the chain above the feeder until their flying skills developed enough for them to get inside themselves. I loved watching them! The feeder is attractive, it is easy to clean, and I use it year around. My second feeder is for a 90-year-old friend who will be overjoyed to have it for her bluebirds.

This is a nice feeder and keeps the mealworms and bluebird nuggets dry in wet weather. However the sides are not tall enough to keep bully birds from reaching over the top. Either make the sides taller or remove the perch from the long sides of the feeder. We installed a wire mesh above the sides to solve our problem.

Everything about this feeder is top notch! Still waiting for the Bluebirds to find it, but I will be ready when they get here. I agree with Martha (review above) in that the sides need to be 1-1/2 inches taller to keep the larger birds from reaching over the sides to the worms. I'm not paying worm prices to feed mockingbirds!

For the first time last year, I had bluebirds nesting in our yard, and eating sunflower meats out of several feeders. I tried to feed them live mealworms, but they never used the cup feeder I had. This year I put a mixture of sunflower meats, dried mealworms and some live ones on the top in this Duncraft mealworm feeder. The bluebirds LOVE the feeder and the mealworms, and other birds do not, so they have it to themselves! I highly recommend it!

Just received my new feeder! Looks great, excellent quality, well designed. I especially love the metal opening protector and the perches. The bluebirds will love it! The best packing job for shipment that I have ever seen!
