Like the Absolute and Absolute II feeders, the Birder’s Choice is an all-metal squirrel-resistant feeder with a weight-activated perch. When a squirrel steps onto the perch, a metal shield drops down, covering the seed tray, keeping the squirrels out! Adjust the perch to invite lightweight, medium or heavy birds to feed. No matter the adjustment, the Birder’s Choice always blocks out squirrels. Includes bird weight chart, so you can choose the size of birds you want to feed. When faced away from prevailing winds, the feeder hangs at an angle to keep the seed ports dry during wet weather. Includes 12 inch metal hanger and the option to pole-mount with the mounting bracket, pole sold separately. All-steel with durable green finish. 10-1/2 x 12-1/2 x 5-3/4 inches tall.

This Feeder Is The Absolute Best
I’ve. Had this feeder for years. It’s withstood numerous Bear attacks not to mention the squirrels. You just wrap the post with tin 6 feet from the ground and they don’t have a chance. It doesn’t look pretty after all the Bear attacks but u just bend it back as good as you can and hang it back up.
It’s still feeding birds and a Bear now and then but going strong

This feeder has withstood many black bear attacks with little damage. I have to bent handle and top back a little but it is still feeding birds and an occasional bear

This product works for squirrels BUT
squirrels can jump 10 feet, so this feeder must be at least 10 feet from where they can get a toehold to jump. I like the small size of this feeder, but I have an Absolute not far from a porch railing and it will shut on them if they try to hang from the side supports of the perch. They try the roof, but the same thing happens. Would recommend the Absolute unless you can move yours.

Squirrel resistant at best
It took them a while but my local squirrels have figured out this feeder. They now leap on top, then approach from the side using the adjustment spring as a perch. This way the can just reach the leftmost openings to get at the seed in the feeder. Otherwise it's a decent unit, but not as sturdy as some of the similar USA-made models.

A squirrel RESISTANT feeder works great in some backyards, but when the squirrels are more aggressive, sometimes heavier-duty squirrel PROOF feeders are required.
