tough feeder
feeder is tough. squirrels have been gnawing at it for a year and it still holds. one flaw is you need to wire it shut or squirrels just pop it open and eat the suet block unprotected.

Greatest Suet Feeder
I got this suet feeder for my birthday. I am an avid bird watcher in my back yard. The suet does need trimming, but no big deal. The suet lasts much longer so the birds you want to attract can get their food not the wrong birds.

Its a keeper
I have always had a major starling problem. I seriously hate those birds. I was going through maybe 2 blocks of suet per day. I came across this feeder on Duncraft FB page. At first I was skeptical. Had that "Yeah sure" attitude. I honestly thought it was impossible to stop starlings. But this feeder does it. Big time. It took a couple days to get them to leave for good. They are gone!! Even using an upside down feeder wouldn't stop starlings. They would hang on for dear life. Believe it or not the squirrels have given up as well. Their population in my yard has dropped big time. Yes I do have to trim the suet block just a bit so it fits but its not a big deal. I have only refilled the feeder once in about a week. The only birds that use it are the small ones, chickadees, woodpeckers, titmouse and nuthatches. They bring their babies and it is so relaxing to watch them. No more obnoxious fighting starlings (or their poop) to put up with. I had almost stopped feeding suet all together but now I don't have to. This invention is amazing and a $$ saver. Who ever came up with this idea deserves some kind of award . Its an absolute WINNER!!!! Thank You.

Tail Prop Suet Shield Feeder
A great idea for controlling the amount of suet going to squirrels. I have to trim the suet cakes to fit them into the inner cage, so it is a bit messy to refill, but I save the trimmings until there are enough to use as a refill. The prop does seem to welcome larger woodpeckers.Well made;after one year,it is still going strong.
