Put that digging bar and shovel away!
I have two and have used one so far with a Universal pole (0703) and a bird feeder. Next one will be used with 80" Sectional pole (FPX3) and a bird house (BH10). I used this one in January when ground was soft and wet. Goes right in and out with a twist. Just keep checking the vertical alignment with a pole as you go, especially if you hit a small rock that can re route your direction and give you a slanted pole.

Love 'em!
Work great with plumbing pipe. May seem costly but last forever. I have six of these for a bluebird trail. The ground here is hard to work with -- lots of clay and ledge. Sometimes it takes several tries to find a usable spot, and they will work themselves through the clay and never bend if they hit ledge they can't get through. Also easy to remove (just unscrew) when you want to rearrange things. I can't imagine trying to use anything else. About to order three more.

great invention
This extends the bird feeder higher to avoid the cats. It also helps it to be stable in the ground.
