The woodpeckers aren't convinced
This is a beautiful product and seems like it will last forever. However, my woodpeckers don't choose this feeder over the other style suet feeders. I'm hoping after more time they will, but meanwhile I enjoy watching the Nuthatches use it.

Smarter than the average Blue Jay!
After researching different suet feeders, I decided to "take a chance" on this style of feeder. I must have smarter than average woodpeckers that come to my feeders because I was told that the woodpeckers "could" be confused at having to approach feeding from a new angle. Within 5 minutes, the first Nuthatch had the new suet feeders figured out! And it was not long before the Hairy, Red-bellied, Downy and others followed. The bird I wanted to discourage, was! The Blue Jays have not been successful at raiding my suet feeders. I am not using nearly as much suet since changing over to this suet feeder style! I have my Touch-Free Suet Feeders hanging against a tree. This allows the woodpeckers to either approach the suet while clinging to the tree or to grip the underside of the feeder and hang from it. An Excellent choice.
