I thought this would be a pretty perfect feeder for our backyard finches, especially because we were tired of the nylon "socks" being chewn through by other critters. Unfortunately, this feeder just sits on its hanger and the birds don't touch it. I'll try hanging it up alongside of another nyjer seed feeder to see whether the birds will "get" what to do. Not sure whether the screen is too fine, or the birds just don't like feeding from it.
