Not happy with this purchase
The concept of this feeder is pretty nice, but it doesn't seem to work in my yard. First of all - I don't have starlings or hosps that I have seen(crosses fingers and knocks on wood!) But, bluebirds often come to my other feeders to eat hulled sunflower seeds...until other birds like cardinals, blue jays, and house finches want a turn. So, I thought this feeder would at least give the bluebirds a better chance against the cardinals and jays. I've had this feeder for a year and have only seen birds on top of it - never inside it. If the wind blows, the feeder becomes lopsided and some of the food inside tips out. Every day, I have to adjust this feeder so that it is hanging straight. It's a bit pricey, so I would recommend spending your money on a different blue bird feeder.

It works, good feeder
Good bluebird feeder. I originally saw one bluebird in my backyard going to a suet cake. I then bought a bluebird feeder that had a blue plate that I filled with mealworms, and of course the starlings and all birds pounced on it!But then I hung this feeder with the bright blue weather protector on it and the bluebirds came-maybe 7 or 8,that I did not even know were in my backyard! I can only think they connected with the bright blue of mealworm plate with the bright blue of the weather protecter on this feeder! My only critism of this feeder is that the dish for the mealworms is big, and there is a ledge aroung the cage that lets starlings cling on. But once the bluebirds are on to it,they dont flinch when starlings hang on. Is it my favorite bluebird feeder? No, is it my second favorite bluebird feeder? Yes! Worth the money, if you love bluebirds!
