I gave this one a shot after several years of watching squirrels munch away at my bird feeders here in Florida. After just a few days, I can tell it is a clear winner, and functions just as described: my acrobatic squirrels are foiled every time as the gate collapses. As an added bonus, because I have the weight setting at its most sensitive level, flocks of heavy nuisance birds like cowbirds and blackbirds are locked out if more than about two try to gorge away at one time. So I’m hoping those massive flocks will head elsewhere with time. And the weight setting still allows my cardinal and red-bellied woodpecker visitors to enjoy! I highly recommend.

Great looking feeder, that the birds love. Its small enough that it works in any yard and space. Very simple to use and clean. Great!

This is the first time I've put out a feeder for the birds. At first, during the fall and winter, I just scattered the bird seed on my patio - but lordy what a mess! In the winter I got mostly small birds, but as spring came on, the larger birds also came and pushed out the little ones (although they did get in there every now and then), not to mention the squirrels that refused to share. So I gotz me a hanger and this lovely feeder that allows only the little ones to eat in comfort and it was beautiful to watch all the small birds return! I put it close to a tree so that it they're hidden from the large birds of prey (who got one of the mourning doves on the patio), so I wasn't sure about it being squirrel proof. Lo and behold it DOES work! After a few tries, the squirrels gave up! Woo-hoo! I must say, I am thoroughly entertained (as are my indoor cats) with the variety of birds! I'd also bought a larger feeder for mid-sized birds. Since a LOT of the seed falls to the ground, EVERYONE gets in on the action - mourning doves, cardinals, bluejays, house finches, song sparrows, squirrels and chipmunks, oh! and even a redheaded woodpecker! all share what has fallen to the ground. No fighting, just gorging. Sorry now I bought only a two-prong hanger ... but winter's not far, so maybe ...

I love this feeder. We live in a relatively rural area with a large squirrel population. I had purchased two other squirrel resistant feeders that the squirrels found a way to remove the top or chew through in less than a day. I have been using this feeder for over a month with great results. The squirrels just seem to give up trying to get into it, so far I haven't had an issue with them. Great job!!
