Well worth the price for keeping Seeds dry and for watching
Looked for a platform feeder for my favorite cardinals. Wanted to keep seeds dry when it rains or snows... and to be able to view my friends as they feed.....AND to keep the BIG Blue Jays and Morning Doves off! This does the trick... and snow melts off easily ! The Red Squirrel has managed to climb up and into the feeder though! Blue Jays atttempt to land and if successful only stay a moment or two. The little birds.... chicadee, juncos, nuthatches, finches, titmouses love it! And the cardinals ffeed one at a time. Well worth the price! Con... Hard to fill with a scoop as the scoop doesn't fit . Created an extension slide with a plastic bottle cut in half legthwise.

Love the Feeder, Hate the Pole.
I just got this feeder yesterday and set it up this morning, so the birds haven't found it yet. I love the way it looks though, and it seems to be high quality. I love the clear roof and the reinforced mesh tray. My only complaint isn't about the feeder itself, it's about the included pole kit. It's terrible! It has too many sections, so it's flimsy. There is no way to stake it in the ground either. No spike, ground screw, bracket, etc..... nothing. Are you seriously just expected to pound part of the hollow pole into the ground? I bought this feeder to place on my table, out on my deck, in winter. (It's a lot closer and easier to fill when there's 2 feet of snow in the yard, and I can watch the birds from my kitchen window.) My plan was to insert the pole through the umbrella hole in table for winter, then move the feeder out to the yard in spring. As I said, I set it up this morning, but in the table, which worked perfectly. When winter is done though, I can't imagine using this pole out in the yard. I wish there would have been an option to purchase the feeder without the pole. I definitely would have done my research to find a better quality pole kit that actaully has a way to secure in in the ground. I'm very happy with the feeder, but the pole kit is very disappointing.
